Sneak Peek for the Week:http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AYV5gxagzvMYZGhtenhqcm5fNDd2d2hobnFjZA&hl=en

Important Events:
  • Friday, March 5 is Spirit Day. Wear spirit wear or black and gold to show your Good Shepherd spirit!

  • Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 5 at 1:45 p.m.
The students are having a lot of fun researching their animals. I started the process by having them read books about their animals to gain some background information. The next step will be taking notes for our reports. I guide this process quite heavily, as the students need help deciding which areas to focus on. For this report, we will mostly work on body features, diet, and habitat. Teaching the kids how to do research and take notes is a big part of their learning. I always love this theme.

Looking ahead, I will be out of the classroom on March 8, 11, and 12 to take care of my son, who is having his tonsils and adenoids removed. My husband and I are taking turns staying home with him that week while he recovers. We are hoping that this procedure will help with a multitude of issues. Krysta Proux will be here all three days. She is very familiar with the school and the kids know her, so that will be helpful. I know she'll do a great job while I'm gone.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Nicole
